Seven great fantasy movies

These days, the long-awaited adaptation of The Dark Tower, the epic fantasy series of books by the famous writer Stephen King, arrived in cinemas.

1. Lord of the Rings trilogy

Most likely the most famous a fantasy series of films and books. In a cruel time fascist regime in Spain the girl Ofelia's mother marries the sadistic general Vidal. He takes them to a remote outpost, where he begins to relentlessly suppress the rebels. Meanwhile, Ophelia discovers an incredible in the woods magical world, full of supernatural fantasy creatures and great adventures, which in a way also mirror the cruel everyday life she faces in real life.

5. The Willow Dwarf (Willow, 1988)

A film based on the creator's story Star Wars by George Lucas, tells the story of a farmer who is the central hero of the story, as he must protect a child from an evil queen who wants to rule the world.

6. Excalibur – The Sword of King Arthur (Excalibur, 1981)

There were already a lot of versions of the Arthurian story, we got two this year as well (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Transformers: The Last Knight), but one of the best is Excalibur - The Sword of King Arthur, which is a classic take on the legendary story. In it, the wizard Merlin must help To Arthur Pendragon in bringing the British people together around the round table Camelot, as dark forces threaten to destroy it.

7. The Harry Potter film series

Another of the more modern adaptations of the bestselling books that still has a huge fan following around the world.
