The Slovenian team Ondu, led by Elvis Halilović, is forging the iron while it's hot, as two years after the success of the wooden camera on Kickstarter, it returns to the scene of the crime with an improved line of Ondu Pinhole MK II cameras. The second-generation Ondu reached the $20,000 "high" bar on its first day, beating its previous time by 24 hours, when it managed to reach the set goal in about 48 hours. Compared to its predecessor, the wooden camera is more durable, and the sophisticated magnetic system means fewer problems with lighting.
Slovenian wooden camera Ondu Pinhole MK II you can pre-order on the online crowdfunding portal Kickstarter, where it immediately started selling like hot cakes. In camera improvements made of walnut and maple wood coated with beeswax they took into account the advice and comments they received during the first campaign, and the result is a more durable product with an improved photography process. And how does this reflect on the new generation of Ondu cameras? For easier framing, there are laser-engraved lines, the aperture is protected by aluminum, there are stronger magnets for attachment and a more accurate and faster trigger. They are also new handmade canvas bags as protection for the camera, which was created specifically at the request of the owners of the original camera. And who sews them? Elvis' mother.
The Kicstarter campaign is ongoing until June 25, 2015, and the first customers will start receiving their orders November 2015. When making a batch of ten different models that differ in specifications, size and price (from calculated 54 to 270 euros), in addition to his family, Halilović also helps Žiga Miklavc, who already contributed his knowledge to the first generation camera, for which 88,000 euros and 2,000,000 orders were collected at the time. This was well above expectations, as they counted on the production of 300 wooden cameras. With the collected money, they bought woodworking machines, perfected the workshop and bought the necessary material.

For all those who are not familiar with the term Pinhole camera. You may know her by name "camera obscura" or in Slovenian hole puncher. It is the most "primitive" form of camera, the forerunner of the modern camera, which does not contain a lens or an objective, and the photograph is created by exposing the photographic film through a small hole (screen). A slightly longer exposure time is required precisely because of the small hole, like a sewing machine's ear. The valve here is operated manually. Despite its "primitiveness", it creates photographs, which even the best cannot create DSLR cameras.
