Savvy EKG – Slovenians have developed a personal EKG meter that can save your life

Savvy EKG - personal EKG meter

As simple as we can measure our body temperature or blood pressure, we will later be able to measure our heart rate as well. Researchers at the Jožef Stefan Institute have developed a personal medical device for accurate monitoring of heart rhythm, which stores the data on a mobile application. Place the device on your body, and you can send the measurements to your doctor at any time, who can identify any deviations or defects in the functioning of the heart.

Institute researchers Joseph Stefan have developed a miniature personal mobile medical device Savvy EKG (the company Saving came to their financial aid), personal meter, which boasts an ECG sensor that durable and filigree accurate (suitable for clinical use) monitors heart rhythm and can distinguish possible deviations from the normal. This enables early detection of problems and implementation of preventive measures. Measurements are accessible via a free mobile app MobECG (the user can prepare the report himself and Ms sent to the doctor).

Savvy EKG is an indispensable medical device for chronic patients, athletes, and elderly people and those with an active lifestyle. The 10-centimeter device, which is simply placed on the body and connected to the aforementioned mobile application, weighs just 22 grams and is attached to the body with the help of two self-adhesive electrodes. In addition to the pulse it also measures movement intensity and body temperature. The battery provides at least a week of autonomy per charge. You have to pay for it 432 euros. You can order it here.
