We spoke with Maja Ferme about an important step in her career and ambassadorship for the Samsung company, with which they took it one step further this time. Maja: In my work, I combine innovation with nature. Samsung Slovenia has been enabling me to create anywhere and anytime with its mobile phones for some time, which gives me complete freedom, which is essential for creativity. Today, creativity is necessary in almost every field for successful work.
Why Samsung and why the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G phone - did you have a say in this?
Maja: I am a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G user, which can be used with a special S pen. With it, I have been sketching collections directly on the phone screen for the last year, including the new Premium FERME collection. Maja: I started from its useful function, which is further increased with the help of straps. The straps make it easier to hold/manage the phone, store or fasten the phone, etc. These are new fashion accessories for the phone with a distinctly useful and at the same time fashionable function. The fashion part also plays a major role here. Logomania is a big trend in fashion right now, so we started from the FERME logo, which we redesigned in a modern way into a trendy unisex pattern that offers many great fashion combinations with phone cases as well as clothing pieces.

Maja: In addition to design, multi-functionality and the connection of various functions to each other and, of course, ease of use are important to me. I was particularly impressed by the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G's S pen, which allows me to create collections directly on the phone screen. This is a great advantage for me, as well as for my clients, who can instantly see how a certain creation suits them, which I sketch directly on their photo.
What did the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G convince you with?
Maja: Trendy look, it's small but big at the same time. You can put it in the smallest bag and have everything you need with you.

You have also been a Samsung ambassador for many years, what do you like about them?
Maja: It is true, nowadays it is essential that companies focus on the demands and wishes of the consumer, while at the same time they are aware of the importance of design, which represents much more than just a visually beautiful product. The fundamental characteristic of design is to achieve an emotional response, not just usability. People want to be different, they need an identity, a dream, without them the world would be completely different.

In addition to the washing machine, since I am only in the fashion industry (laughs), I would also choose a refrigerator with the No Frost function. I come from a family of professional chefs and I'm a big foodie myself. Now that we are renovating the apartment, such a designer and technologically sophisticated product is on my "wish list".
What does it mean to you as a designer to collaborate with big global brands?
In addition to new challenges, it is also working with a larger team of people, thinking about a larger circle of users and more focus on the design itself, which is my biggest passion.
