An extravagant dance show with the Irish tradition of Lord of the Dance will come to life on April 7 on the big stage of Ljubljana's Stožice. One of the most visited shows in the world has been breaking all sales records for 20 years and leaving enthusiastic crowds behind.
The city of Gogi finally saw its important event. In June 2017, Cirque du Soleil is coming to Ljubljana, which will present itself in our capital for the first time with the show Varekai. The mixture of an excellent dramatic performance, spectacle and, of course, incredible acrobatics will captivate even the most indifferent viewer. Tickets already purchased for Varekai shows are valid for the new dates and do not need to be exchanged.
In February, the top Canadian dance ensemble Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal comes to the stage of Cankarjev dom, playing with the interweaving of classical ballet with undertones of modern dance genres.
From the 16th to the 24th of September 2017, the Slovenian capital will be shaking with the quick beats of dancing shoes - Ljubljana will host CoFestival 2017, an international contemporary dance festival. Among others, we will be able to see the performances Chorus, VOJNA YYvonne Rainer, Elvedon, Zlivanje and many other great dance performances. Tickets for the festival are already on sale.
Life is a value, a charity theatrical multimedia dance performance, will take place on February 14, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. in Španski borci in Ljubljana. Part of the proceeds from the performances are donated to the Little Knight foundation, a foundation for helping young people cured of cancer.

The dance couple Andreja Podlogar and Blaž Bertoncelj are preparing for us the premiere of the transmedia dance performance Othello - Shakespeare and Tango on the 450th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest artists of the word of all time, William Shakespeare.
With the 8th Gibanica between March 8 and 11, Ljubljana will once again be the epicenter of contemporary Slovenian dance creativity. The Gallus Hall of Cankarjev dom will be transformed into an ice fairy tale for the second time in its history, as it will host the St. Petersburg State Ballet on Ice on November 11 and 12 this year. In addition to roasted chestnuts and the beginning of decorating, November is also the month when CoFestival - an international contemporary dance festival - comes to life in Ljubljana. This time, already in its fourth edition, the festival will take place in ten days (between November 25 and December 4) in four Ljubljana venues - the Tobačna 001 Cultural Center, the Slovenian Theater Institute, the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, and most of the program will take place at the festival organizer Kinu Šiška.
