Between May 24 and 26, 2018, the 34th international festival Druga Godba 2018 will take place in Piran and Ljubljana. In the central part, 15 famous musical names will be presented: among others Ibeyi, James Holden & The Animal Spirits, Kokoko!, N' Toko, Olfamošto and many others. Tickets are already on sale.
In May, the capital will come alive again in the glow of numerous lighting projects that will illuminate the city center. This year's Svetlobna gverila festival 2018 is dedicated to colors - they will explore the role of colors in the context of contemporary art, their symbolism, but also their physical properties, where we can achieve unique color effects through various manipulations. The festival, which will string together a series of events and guides, also includes the Light Guerrilla Laboratory, an educational platform where the artistic ambitions of the interested public will be taken care of in numerous workshops. It will take place between May 11 and June 16.
On May 10, the Kardel platform will become the venue for the largest student event in Slovenia. The 21st Škis Market 2018 will offer visitors culinary delights from all over Slovenia, which will be prepared by student clubs at the stands, and in the evening there will be an excellent music program on two music stages. All the performers who will perform at the Škis market this year are already known.
In 2018, the largest Slovenian architecture festival Open House of Slovenia OHS will take place for the ninth time, when the best, most innovative, most energy-efficient, architecturally excellent buildings will once again be opened and architecture that opens up a different vision of space will be shown.
The world-renowned stars, cellists 2CELLOS, announce their return to Slovenia after sold-out concerts on the world's most prestigious stages, such as the Royal Albert Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks and many others. A few weeks ago, they released the single Perfect, a hit by Ed Sheeran, and in March this year they will hold three more concerts in the region, namely in Arena Zagreb, Spaladium Arena in Split and Zetra in Sarajevo. This will be followed by a Canadian and European tour, which will end with a large all-Slovenian exclusive open air concert on June 29 in Koper.
