At an extended concert in Ljubljana, the band Laibach will present the album The Sound of Music, the idea for which arose when the group was invited to North Korea in 2015. It contains songs from the musical My Songs, My Dreams and arrangements of Korean folk songs.
After the triumphant conquest of North Korea, also immortalized in the high-profile film Liberation Day, the cult local band Laibach returned with their first studio album after the 2014 hit Spectre. Also Sprach Zarathustra's 20th studio album, which is already receiving praise from critics all over the world, will be premiered on our soil at Kino Šiška, and of course the performance will be supplemented with other compositions from their extensive repertoire.
In 2015, the Slovenian music group Laibach plowed the field when they became the first foreign group to perform in the otherwise hermetically sealed North Korea. On May 1, 2017, with a concert at the Jeonju Film Festival in South Korea, they will become the first rock band to perform in both Koreas.
Last year, Laibach toured in North Korea, and since that pioneering tour, the concert project The Sound of Music has also been presented on a European tour, which has been going on since December 2015. On May 9, Laibach will present this project, which on this occasion he used in Our Songs , your dreams, also presented in Cankarjev dom. Laibach's guest at the Ljubljana concert will be the band Silence.
The Laibach group will be the first foreign music group to perform in the otherwise hermetically sealed North Korea, where on August 19 and 20, 2015, two concerts are promised in the capital Pyongyang. He will be there as part of the Liberation Day Tour, and the date of the performances coincides with the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Korean Peninsula from Japanese occupation, which divided Korea in half, so that even today they are seen as dog and cat.
After a sold-out concert in Ljubljana's Križanke and after a series of solo and festival performances in European capitals, the band Laibach, with the release of their acclaimed album Spectre, continues with an offensive in the main cities of Slovenia in November and December.
