The 90-day no-contact rule: The best way to move on with life after a relationship ends

When your relationship ends, your world becomes filled with disappointment, tons of ice cream, crying, sleepless nights. It seems to you that you will never fall in love and love again. You feel lost, confused, and tempted to do things you know you shouldn't! Then it's time to follow the no contact rule!

No contact rule is a period of time in which you refrain from contacting your ex. This means no texting and no calling. It means cutting ties in every sense of the word so you can clear your head, get some space and time for yourself and from that person. If done correctly, it helps you recover from a breakup faster and speeds up the healing process.

It allows you to grow as a person. But it can also help you reunite with your ex the right way if you both believe that getting back together is the right thing to do.

Why it's not a good idea to contact your ex

The answers are quite simple:

  • If you want to forget about them and move on, you will contact with them only made it more confusing and you won't be able to stop thinking about them.
  • If you have no idea what to do after a breakup, you better be you give some time, as if going in the wrong direction with impulsive decisions.

… It gives you a chance to put yourself back together.
… It reminds you that you are the creator of your own happiness.
… It gives the other person space to miss you (which is great if you miss them too)

The no contact rule is sort of rehabilitation. When you spend so much time with someone, you are kind of addicted to that person because they are an important part of your life. This is the main reason why you can't stop thinking about her and why you feel tempted to stay in touch after the breakup.

By using this rule, you allow yourself to reconnect with your true self and clear away all the negativity that has built up during your time together. In order to move forward, it is imperative that you give yourself some space and time to heal properly. If you want to get back together, it's also imperative that you give your relationship some time to cool down and heal.

… She will be confused. ( She was texting and calling me all the time and now I'm starting to think something is wrong. Maybe she met someone else )
… She will wonder what is going on in your head and life. (I wonder if she still likes me. Maybe she's still in love with me but she doesn't want me to know it and so she's ignoring me. I wonder what she's doing right now. Maybe she's thinking about me too, but she's pretending not to. Wait, is that even possible?)
