The cold wave that has swept Europe these days gives us the opportunity to enjoy the much-desired joys of winter. The Dutch, more precisely the inhabitants of Amsterdam, have once again attracted the attention of the world with their charming ice rinks - the frozen canals of the city.

The biggest crowd was on the surface of the historic canal Prinsengracht with many adventurers who wanted to try out what it's like to skate downtown. The last such opportunity was last in 2018. The phenomenon excited many skaters, who were able to test the new training ground for this favorite winter activity, especially at a time when most of the content in European cities is unavailable due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Some walked along the ice channels, while others even played hockey. Unfortunately, many skaters caused cracks in the ice and had to stop skating for safety reasons.
