The moment has finally arrived. The legendary G-wagon comes in an electrified version. So a true proof of how much Mercedes-Benz is working towards electrification, and its iconic G-Class is no exception.
The vehicle you see is not the one you will be able to buy in the future, but it is very close to the official version of the electric version. Mercedes called the concept EQG and it is a vision of what the electrified G-Class will be like.
It certainly looks like class G, and fans will be happy to note that it should be just as robust. The silhouette is still a boxy body - even at the most cursory glance, it's a real G. Of course, there are a lot of details that betray its electric soul, for example, you'll find LED lighting on the sides. which runs along the typical protective edge. The "trunk" is cute, where the spare tire should be. And at the same time a tribute to tradition. It is decorated with 22-inch rims.
Technical data are not yet known. But it will join the ever-increasing number of electric vehicles that can tackle the terrain and bring the nostalgia of another era. General Motors has revived the Hummer brand, EV startup Rivian is about to launch its first truck, and the brand's SUV is coming later this year. Ford, however, has even considered bringing an all-electric version of its revived Bronco SUV to the road.
Retro and electrified is just so cool!
