The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are phones that those who want the most will reach for. This is also why this year the changes in these models are more visible than in the regular iPhone 14.
The main visual change you'll notice is the pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen. It's smaller than the old notch, made possible by the fact that the cameras inside are now 30 % smaller. The proximity sensor has moved under the screen itself. Apple could not get out of its skin and called the notch - Dynamic Island. Apple also geekily plays with the black pixels around the actual notch to create some dynamic effects and make it look more interesting. We are all convinced that it is high time that the "front side" of the phone is concretely refreshed. The "Always-On" display also contributes to this. This one boasts 6.1″ on the Pro and 6.7″ on the Pro Max, and is now brighter, shining up to 2,000 nits peak for HDR content, and has a new controller that supports refresh rates up to 1Hz. Which in turn means that Always-On Display is finally available in an Apple product. Of course, only with the Pro model. The clock, widgets and live activities will be visible at a glance on this always-on display.
The biggest change in the iPhone 14 Pro is actually the "screen" and its front side. We are also pleased that "Apple" has brightened the screen, which has always been problematic in strong outdoor light. Oziorma knew how to hide the light sensor in the dark conditions. A leap forward in cameras too
The main camera on the back has a "quad-pixel" sensor, which is a first for Apple. The sensor has a resolution of 48MP, but by default the phone will record in 12MP. The camera has an aperture of f/1.78 and a pixel size of 1.22μm before combining - 2.44μm with combining. You also get second-generation sensor-shift stabilization and full-focus pixels.

iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are designed to reduce their impact on the environment, with 100% recycled rare earth elements used in all magnets, including those used in MagSafe, and 100% recycled tungsten in Taptic Engine. Both models also include 100% recycled tin in the solder of multiple PCBs and 100% recycled gold in the plating of multiple PCBs and in the wire of all cameras. Fiber-based packaging does not use an outer plastic film, bringing Apple closer to its goal of completely removing plastic from all packaging by 2025.
Prices and availability of the new iPhone 14 Pro Max
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be available in space black, silver, gold and dark purple with 128/256/512 GB and 1 TB of storage. Pre-orders begin on Friday, September 9th, with availability on September 16th. The price in the US has remained the same as last year - the iPhone 14 Pro starts at 999 $, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at 1099 $. Prices are not yet known for Europe at the time of this writing. The phone will be available from Slovenian operators and amazon.de.
