Lancia, the legendary Italian car brand, is ushering in a new era with an electric version of its iconic Ypsilon model. The presentation of the new Lancia Ypsilon 2024 heralds a big step for the brand in the direction of electrification. The new Ypsilon, the brand's first EV model, has been revealed as a special Cassina Limited Edition, which will be available in a limited series of just 1,906 numbered units, reflecting the year Lancia was founded. Regular sales of the Ypsilon model will start later in February.
This model promises 403 km autonomy, which was confirmed by WLTP tests. It is built on the eCMP platform, which it shares with other EVs in the Stellantis group, such as the Peugeot e-208 and the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa. In addition, the Lancia Ypsilon comes with advanced charging times, although exact specifications have not yet been revealed.

Having said that, the car will not be limited to electric version. Z versions are also announced 1.2 turbo gasoline engine and a hybrid option. The electric version boasts 156 horsepower, a 54 kWh (gross) battery and a range of up to 400 km, which is based on the Fiat 600e platform.
Official presentation of the new Lancia Ypsilon will be in Milan on February 14, which will reconfirm the brand's presence on the market and continue with the promise of returning to Belgium, where the car will initially also be on sale.
