Are you curious about what the car of the future looks like, which is already available today? Imagine an electric sedan with a range of up to 870 kilometers, acceleration to a hundred in under three seconds, an interior that would not be ashamed of even a Mercedes S-Class, and a price that is more Dacia than Audi. Zeekr 7x – probably the most underrated electric car of this decade.
Zeekr is a brand created by automotive giant Geely – the same company that also owns Volvo, A half-year-old, Lotus and Smart. But even though it comes from China, it is Zeekr 7x more European in spirit than many “real” European cars. It was developed in Sweden, designed under the leadership of a Spanish designer and tailored exclusively for European buyers – which means less “space” design experiments and more elegance, ergonomics and pragmatism. The car is built on the most modern modular SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, which allows the use of 800-volt batteries, which brings surprising results in terms of charging and performance.
The Zeekr 7x measures 4.865 meters in length, with a wheelbase of almost three meters, meaning it offers a luxurious cabin even for rear passengers. The exterior appearance is classically sporty, with clean lines, an aggressive lighting signature and minimalist details that are not spoiled by cheap imitation chrome or plastics.
Zeekr 7x: When numbers become a song – capabilities that take over
There are three basic configurations of the Zeekr 7x, but forget about the classic “basic” as a synonym for “poor”. Even the base rear-wheel drive model offers 421 horsepower (310 kW) and a 100 kWh battery made with lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) chemistry, which is known for its exceptional durability and safety. This configuration allows for a range of up to 688 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC standard, which translates to around 610 kilometers according to the more realistic WLTP.
If you want even more, there's the Long Range version, also with rear-wheel drive, with a nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery that allows for up to 870 kilometers of range (CLTC) or around 720 kilometers WLTP. And for adrenaline junkies, there's the Performance model with four-wheel drive and two engines that together develop 645 horsepower (475 kW). Acceleration to 100 km/h? Just 2.84 seconds. And all without the engine roaring or the exhaust spraying.
Zeekr 7x: Faster than coffee – game-changing charging
One of the most impressive features of the Zeekr 7x is its charging speed. All models are built on an 800-volt architecture, which allows DC fast charging up to 292 kWThis means you will be able to charge your battery from 10 % to 80 % in just 11 minutes – which is faster than the average stop at a gas station. If we add to that standard 22 kW AC charging, we get one of the most flexible electric vehicles for everyday and long-term use.
For comparison: the Porsche Taycan takes about 22 minutes to charge the same amount, the Tesla Model 3 a little longer. The Zeekr 007 takes the crown fastest charging production EV in the world.
An interior where high-tech meets Zen
If the exterior seems Zeekr 7x Clean and elegant, the interior takes things to a whole new level. The dashboard is designed in a minimalist style, but without sacrificing usability. The center of attention is the 15.05-inch floating display, powered by the Snapdragon 8155 processor, which means lightning-fast performance. A digital instrument cluster is standard, as is AR Head-up Display, which projects navigation and other information directly onto the windshield.
All this is enriched with materials that are truly at the level of the prestige class. Soft surfaces, nappa leather, details in brushed aluminum and even wood (depending on the package), and 21 speakers with crystal clear sound created by the company's own "Zeekr Sound" system. The seats are heated, cooled and massaged - front and rear, if you pay for the right package. There is also separate climate control, electric sunshades and plenty of legroom for rear passengers.
Driving experience: Uncompromising comfort and supreme dynamics
Driving the Zeekr 7x is like flying in a private jet – quiet, smooth, and commanding. The Performance model’s four-wheel drive provides traction in all conditions, while the rear-wheel drive versions remain remarkably balanced and enjoyable even at higher speeds. The Performance version also features adaptive air suspension, which automatically lowers at higher speeds, thereby reducing air resistance and increasing stability.
Important: The driver assistance is also at a top level. The lane-keeping system works smoothly, the cruise control is adaptive and capable of automatic lane changes. All this is made possible by the “Zeekr AD” autopilot system, which is based on Nvidia Orin-X chips and uses radar, cameras and LiDAR for greater accuracy. Zeekr’s navigation system is not yet perfect – not everything is shown in detail everywhere – but the vehicle allows for easy and quick feedback directly to the developers via the app or the in-car menu.
And now the question of all questions: How much does it cost?
In China, Zeekr 7x selling from 209,900 to 299,900 yuan, which corresponds to the range 27,000–38,000 eurosOf course, European taxes and homologations will raise the price. According to our estimates, the entry price in Europe will be somewhere between 52,000 and 55,000 euros, while the Performance version with all the equipment could cost up to 65,000 euros – which is still less than the base BMW i4 M50 or Mercedes EQE.
Currently, the Zeekr 007 will only be available in select European markets – Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands first. Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia will likely have to wait until at least mid or late 2026.
Conclusion: The car of the future, which is here today – although not (yet) with us
Zeekr 7x It is not an experiment or a concept prototype. It is a real, drivable, production electric car that fulfills the promises of the PowerPoint presentations that most European brands still use to present “future models.” It is a vehicle designed by data, user needs and brutal efficiency, not the logic of “let’s make it shinier, and it will look premium”.
Yes, the Zeekr 007 is made in China. But that's where the most sophisticated Tesla models, the latest iPhones, and half of the components in European cars are also made. We can still console ourselves that "it's not German," but that argument is becoming more hollow every day. Because once you sit in it, you don't care where it was assembled. All that matters is that How do you feel in it?.
And Zeekr 007 feels like the future. The only question is, are we ready for it?
