The thin Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge phone again: it's the most beautiful confusion of 2025

This is not a phone. It's a design statement.

Samsung has created the thinnest flagship ever. A thin phone! But is this aesthetic nirvana hiding a technological nightmare?

We once believed the future would be sharp, black, and foldable. In fact, the future turns out to be smooth, shiny, precisely 5.8mm thick, and named Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. It's not a phone, it is argument – in the debate between form and function, aesthetics and usability, between “why?” and “why not?” So – A thin phone!

But before we bite into a thin titanium sandwich, let's take a moment for nostalgia.

A thin phone! How did we get here? A short course in the history of smart illusions

In 2015, we still believed that thinner is always better. Apple gave us the iPhone 6, which looked more like origami than a phone when worn with tight jeans. Samsung followed suit – shrinking batteries, dropping headphone jacks, and we all applauded. Until we stopped.

Then there was a comeback: phones became thicker, more techno-heavy, packed with megapixels, gigabytes of RAM, and AI tricks we never really needed. And just when we thought thinness was history, along came the Galaxy S25 Edge and said, “No, my dears. History repeats itself. But this time with better glass.”

What is the Galaxy S25 Edge? Luxury in the form of asceticism

This is the Galaxy S25 Ultra on a diet – a slim phone – no zoom cameras, no S Pen, no 5,000 mAh battery, no bass drops. Instead, we get a 3,900 mAh battery, a single 200 MP sensor that’s almost too beautiful for the average eye, and a feel in the hand that feels more like a MacBook Air than a phone. Cool titanium, ceramic glass, edges so thin you can’t believe they’re there.

Samsung didn't make a phone. It made an object of desire. Like a Prada bag. Like a VanMoof electric bike. Like anything you buy to be a little cooler like a neighbor, but not necessarily more practical.

Why does it exist? Because function is no longer queen. Feeling is.

Samsung knows something we're not quite ready to admit: Most people don't use 5x zoom. Most people don't know what the S Pen does. Most people don't need 100x zoom because no one wants to see the Moon. so close.

But we all want something that feels like a jewel in the hand. Thin, light, prestigious. The emphasis is on expression – not on specifications.

Problem? Of course. And a big one.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is the most beautiful problem Samsung has ever created. The problem isn't that it can't do it. The problem is that it could - if only it were a little thicker.

Less battery means more frustration. Fewer speakers mean quieter TikTok videos. And while all of this can be justified with aesthetics, there's one thing no aesthetics can hide: the fact that you'll have to carry a power bank.

And the biggest irony? If you want to protect it with a good case, you're destroying everything this phone was meant to be: thin. Perfect. A sculpture in your pocket.

Is this the future?

Maybe. Maybe not.

But one thing is certain: The Galaxy S25 Edge is an indicator of where the industry is going. Toward things that look good. Toward things that are worn as fashion accessories. Toward phones that aren't necessarily smarter—but more sensual.

Apple will follow. Probably this year. Xiaomi will go even further. And you? You will wonder: Do I really need all these features? Or do I just want something that looks... otherwise?

Final thought: Should I buy it?

If you're a tech fanatic who measures performance in resolution, speed, and number of lenses - then no. The S25 Edge is not the phone for you. It's the phone for village, when you're in Saint-Tropez. Or at a meeting with an architect. Or just in need of space in your pockets.

This is a phone that doesn't scream. It just whispers: "Look at me. I'm not like the others." And that, dear readers, can be worth more than any 5x optical zoom these days. As long as you don't buy a thick protective case. Of course, the price is right: 1,280 euros – you can buy it at this link!
