The way we listen to music has changed a lot over the decades. Vinyl records, cassettes, CDs, storing music on a portable MP3 player, YouTube and finally music streaming platforms. The offer of the latter is always bigger, from fully payable and to those who will play the music also for free. There are also such platforms that focus on specific genres, such as classical music or hip hop, r'n'b and reggae.

This one is usually bound to a specific package. The more we pay, the quality will be better (and MP3 up to CD quality). In Slovenia, some platforms due to licensing problems (or lack of interest) are not operating. Among the bigger ones are Spotify, Amazon Music and Pandora.

Apple has left a huge mark on the music industry, so it's no surprise that its music streaming platform is one of the most popular in the world. Apple Music otherwise does not offer free listening, but it offers just 3-month trial period, in which we find out in detail whether the application is right for our needs. We can choose among more than 50 million songs and pre-built playlists, which are prepared by both the staff and musicians. The playlists are varied, from the latest hits to carefully selected songs that will give you extra energy during your workout at the gym. Apple Music doesn't offer bundles with high-quality audio formats, but they will 3-euro subscriptions happy students (for all the rest it costs 6 euros respectively 9 euros for the whole family).

Google is aware that a huge number of people listen to music through the YouTube app. In order to save us data transfer due to the simultaneous video transfer, they created the YouTube Music application, which still playing the video, however in inferior quality. The ads remain, as does the fact that the phone screen must remain unlocked (to get rid of both, of course, you have to pay). At least through the app improves sound quality, and we also add personalized music lists and lists of the hottest hits right now. The app is tied to YouTube Red. If we have a subscription to Red, YouTube Music will already be included in the subscription. It's a subscription 6 euros per month.

In the most expensive package, they even offer music in 24-bit notation. Audiophiles will therefore like the platform quite a bit. It is an interface pretty good, but fans of R'n'B and hip hop music will be much more satisfied with the offer, as there are also some exclusives on Tidal that cannot be found elsewhere. Tidal does not offer a free form. After expiration 30-day trial period the individual will pay for the basic package 6 euros (family 9 euros) or for the Hi-Fi package 12 euros (family 18 euros).

The Play Music platform is expected to get a different look soon, but we hope that the functionality will remain the same. For 6 euros per month we get access to a wide selection of songs (more than 30 million), and in addition to our own selection of songs, we can enjoy pre-made playlists that are arranged like this according to our taste like by genres and feeling. There are also lists for appeasement, for good morning and peaceful sleep. Through so-called radio stations, we'll listen to music that Google predicts we're likely to like. Through this, we have already discovered quite a few new musicians and bands that we have come to like. Google Play Music does not offer high quality playback packages, but relies on quality 320 kbps.

Since this must be played in high quality, IDAGIO offers it in only lossless FLAC format. The search engine will find the music on the basis the composer, soloist, ensemble or orchestra. It is also possible to find personalized playlists. It is a monthly subscription 10 euros, but it is also possible to purchase a 3-, 6- or 12-month subscription in advance.
