We have it - Slovenian Car of the Year 2022, which this time was held in its 30th edition. Thus, in the jubilee thirtieth final of the Slovenian Car of the Year 2022 selection, we chose Toyota as the winner with the Yaris Cross compact SUV.
In the jubilee thirtieth final of the selection for the Slovenian car of 2022, Toyota won the title for the first time in history with the Yaris Cross compact SUV.

Toyota yaris cross was voted by the automotive newsrooms of the nine participating media - Avtomagazina, Dela s Slovenski novice, Dnevnik z Nedeljski, Evo Magazin, Komotar Minute, Motorevije AMZS, Siol.net, Vala 202 z Avtomobilnostvo and Vecera - won with an advantage of 15 points over Renault hybrid crossover Megane Conquest. The third place was also won by an electric car for the first time in the history of the selection - Škoda enyaq. The fourth place went to the Opel Mokka, while automotive journalists ranked another electric car among the five finalists - the Volkswagen ID.4 - in the fifth place.
With the vote of the participating editors, the Toyota yaris cross was awarded the highest number of points in the final vote, six points, and the yaris cross already brought six points to the final by winning the vote of readers, viewers and listeners, who cast 22,829 votes.
Toyota is only the second Japanese car brand to boast this flattering title in the 30-year history of the Slovenian Car of the Year selection; before the Toyota Yaris Cross, only two Japanese cars, both of the Mazda brand, received the title of Slovenian Car of the Year: the Mazda 6 in 2003, and the Mazda 3 in 2004.
The final event of the Slovenian Car of the Year 2022 selection was hosted at the TPV Automotive factory in Brežice, and this year's Slovenian Car of the Year 2022 selection is published in the form of a video on the websites and social media channels of all participating media and on this website.
