The last episode of Game of Thrones is behind us, and we will have to wait patiently for the new season. Fortunately, there are quite a few good new series waiting for us this fall that we can easily become obsessed with. New comedies, dark prestigious dramas and epic documentaries are waiting for us. These are the new series of 2017.
New series for fall 2017:
The Deuce (2017)
The series focuses on the beginnings of the porn industry in the 1970s and dissects the reasons why misogyny, prostitution and objectification gave birth to such a profitable industry. The series also stars James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The series will premiere on September 10 on HBO.
Dynasty (2017)
The new version of the 1980s series has, of course, ditched the fashion kinks and homophobia, but kept the things viewers have always enjoyed: female bickering, incitement, and decadent fashion. The series will premiere on October 11 on The CW.
Future Man (2017)
The new comedy from the production team, which includes Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, centers on a video game-obsessed janitor who still lives with his parents. He soon finds himself on a special mission to save the world. The series premieres November 14 on Hulu.
Ghost (2017)
Anyone who ever wished The X-Files could be a little more fun is in for a treat with this new comedy. An overqualified mall security guard teams up with a true believer when they must investigate paranormal phenomena in Los Angeles. The series will premiere on October 1st on Fox.
Mindhunter (2017)
The series is based on the seminal work of John E. Douglas: Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit. The action is set in 1979, and two special agents of an elite unit try to catch serial killers and rapists. The series will premiere on October 13 on Netflix.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Prepare your captain's logs. The first Star Trek series in over a decade is actually a continuation of the original series from the 1960s. It centers on a man raised as a Vulcan who also happens to be the ship's first officer. The series will premiere on September 24 on CBS and on the CBS All Access streaming site, where all subsequent episodes will also be available.
Ten Days in the Valley (2017)
The daughter of a workaholic and television producer simply disappears one day. But who kidnapped her? And how many secrets will she have to reveal to get her daughter back? The series premieres October 1 on ABC.
Top of the Lake: China Girl (2017)
The crime drama revolves around racism, social class and human trafficking. Things we all know exist but choose to ignore. The series premieres September 10 on SundanceTV.
The Vietnam War (2017)
Ken Burns and Lynn Novick and their team collected interviews with nearly 80 witnesses—civilians, soldiers, opponents, and more. The 10-episode miniseries is likely to be the definitive guide to these polarizing and politically charged events. The series premieres September 17 on PBS.
White Famous (2017)
What does it take to be a commercial success? The comedy-drama, loosely based on the life of Jamie Foxx, follows a comedian who is literally 'burning up' the stage, but still under-recognized. The series will premiere on October 15th on Showtime.
