In the world of motoring, there are always new milestones that are worth celebrating. Toyota has done just that with the latest addition to its impressive GR Supra line - the "Toyota GR Supra GT4 100th Edition Tribute". This special edition is a tribute to the hundred units of the GR Supra GT4 that were developed for customers around the world to take part in motor racing.

New limited edition Toyota GR The Supra GT4 100th Edition Tribute boasts a striking new color Plasma Orange, which is available exclusively for this model. Its attractive appearance is complemented by new 19-inch lightweight wheels in matte black. The car's features are completed by the black brake calipers with the GR mark, which emphasize the identity TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, while an optional rear spoiler visually links the car to the GR Supra GT4.

Inside, the driver's environment is focused on sporty driving, with black suede seat covers for durability and a premium feel. These combine with the suede gear lever for a satisfying and tactile shifting experience. Orange stitching on the boot mat matches the exterior of the car and completes the aesthetic update.

The limited edition is highlighted by a carbon fiber dash insert that also bears the “Toyota GR Supra GT4 100th Edition Tribute” graphic. A panel on the driver's side of the dashboard, visible when the door is open, further emphasizes the limited edition.

The Toyota GR Supra GT4 100th Edition Tribute is based on the 3.0-liter GR Supra Lightweight with a six-speed manual transmission that has been specially designed for the power and torque of the 340 hp (250 kW) six-cylinder engine.

For more responsive acceleration, the final ratio is shorter, from 3.15 in the automatic GR Supra to 3.46. In addition to the weight savings via the manual transmission, additional specification changes to simplify the audio system and seating functions mean the vehicle is a total of 38.3kg lighter than the original 3.0-litre automatic version of the GR Supra. These adaptations provide improved agility and handling capabilities.

As in manual GR Supra Lightweight, also GR Supra "GT4 100th Edition Tribute” benefits from a revised suspension designed to optimize manual transmission performance. This includes stiffer vulcanized rubber bushings on the front and rear stabilizer bars and revised dampers, as well as component and operating parameter adjustments in the electric power steering.

As part of the global TOYOTA GAZOO Racing project, motorsport competitors have also become part of the Supra family, thanks to the GR Supra GT4.

The GR Supra GT4 was developed in Cologne, Germany, in TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe, home of Toyota's five-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner, and was unveiled in March 2020. It is being sold to private customers to compete in the popular GT4 category, where modifications are permitted for safety and performance.

As a more accessible level of motor racing, GT4 racing allows professional and amateur drivers to compete on the world's most famous racetracks, perfectly fitting the Supra's ethos as a sports car for all driving enthusiasts.

Since its introduction, GR Supra GT4 customers have won races and championships on three continents in competitions such as the GT4 European Series, GT4 America and Super Taikyu in Japan, as well as legendary events such as the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. A total of 625 entries in 317 races worldwide until the end of 2022 resulted in 79 class wins, 20 overall wins and 207 podium finishes. In 2023, 27 GR Supra GT4s compete in Europe, 20 in North America and 12 in Asia, including Japan.

Production of the GR Supra GT4 reached the milestone of 100 units this year, which is now honored by the new limited series GR Supra “GT4 100th Edition Tribute”, of which, fittingly, 100 units of the road-going model will be available in Europe. The new limited edition GR Supra will go on sale alongside the new MY24 GR Supra later this year, with specific launch dates varying by market in Europe.

With this special GR Supra “GT4 100th Edition Tribute” model, Toyota has shown that motorsport is deeply rooted in its DNA. This limited series is a tribute to passionate drivers and motoring enthusiasts who value exhilarating driving and exceptional performance. As the saying goes, "a car is more than just a means of transport, it is an expression of personality". And this special edition GR Supra is undoubtedly an expression of passion for speed, performance and motor racing.
