A number of thematic routes are also available to visitors to Brda. As part of these, you can also climb on Sabotine, which, according to tradition, was separated from the Holy Mountain by the Soča River. This proud recluse, from where the view stretches over Brda and the Karst, and you can see the Alps and the Gulf of Trieste, offers as many as six different routes for ascent. If the locals are to be believed, it is interesting to walk everything.

Hiša Marica, seasonal Briška cuisine

One of the most famous restaurants in Brdy is undoubtedly Hiša Marica, which is located in the village center of Šmartna. It boasts excellent traditional cuisine that draws on local and seasonal ingredients. You won't find a permanent menu there, but it changes weekly, depending on what's available and what's thriving at the moment.

Dvor Vipolže, a renovated Briška homestead

The boutique accommodation is located in the picturesque Briška village of Vipolže, overlooking lush vineyards and orchards. The owners undertook the renovation of the Briška stone house in which they arranged eight comfortably furnished rooms, a suite and an apartment. The renovation took place with great respect for tradition, while the interior design is modern, but at the same time rustic and homely. The largest room also boasts a free-standing bathtub, while other rooms are adapted for families. In the mornings, they serve you a delicious breakfast with products from nearby farms.
