When you combine the depths of the oceans and the heights of the sky, you get the new Tudor Pelagos FXD GMT watch, which combines nautical tradition and reliable GMT functionality for aviation and deep-sea enthusiasts. Tudor's story with the Marine Nationale continues with a robust yet elegant model in the shade of pilot uniform green.

Tudor, a popular sub-brand Rolex, known for robust watches with a timeless design, has once again stepped out of the shadows with its new GMT watch. The Pelagos FXD GMT draws on experience with the French Navy from the 1950s, and now brings a watch for the soldiers of the sky, the French Naval Air Force (Aéronautique Navale). The new watch stands out because GMT functions (Zulu Time), which allows the display of three time zones - which is especially convenient for pilots flying between different time zones.

The FXD GMT builds on the 2021 model, but adds additional functionality to bridge the lines between a traditional diver's watch and an aviation watch. The reason for the FXD label? FXD stands for Fixed Straps, which allows quick strap replacement without special tools, making this watch even more practical in extreme situations.

Robustness with selected aesthetics

The FXD GMT is a true modern classic in 42 mm titanium version, which works extremely easily and sustainably for an hour. The surface is satin and reflects minimal glare, which is especially important for military use. The reverse features the emblem of the French Naval Air Force and the marking MN24, indicating the year of issue. Water resistance up to 200 meters ensures worry-free use even in wet conditions, although at 12.7 mm thick, this model is slightly smaller than traditional Pelagos diving watches, which boast 500 meters.

GMT functionality: more than just aesthetics

The caliber takes care of the GMT functionality MT5652-U, the same one used by Tudor's Black Bay GMT series. It has an extremely precise mechanism power reserve of up to 65 hours and boasts a Master Chronometer certificate. The basic GMT function allows you to track UTC, which means that the orange “Zulu Time” hand circles the dial every 24 hours, while you can also set the local time on the main hands. By using bidirectional ceramic bezel with 24-hour scale it is also possible to easily set a third time zone – a feature aimed at real world travelers.

Tribute to aviators with the iconic strap

The FXD GMT has a very special one green polyester strap, reminiscent of the uniforms of French military pilots. The strap is designed to be durable and comfortable even during prolonged wear, whether on a diving mission or in the cockpit. For everyday use, the watch is adapted to a robust aesthetic and feel, while at the same time remaining sophisticated enough to work perfectly as a fashion accessory.
