The ballet moves to Kino Šiška. And why not, since it is, after all, Urban Ballet, or a series of SNG Opera and Ballet performances aimed at young choreographers. Young people especially for their fresh spirit and fresh way of thinking, which they bring to the Slovenian ballet and contemporary dance scene. As part of the urban ballet evening, the premiere of which will be held in the Ljubljana Center for Urban Culture, interesting Slovenian artists Sanja Nešković Peršin and Kjara Starič will present their original choreography. Both choreographers have already drawn attention to themselves mainly with choreographies outside of institutional theater projects and with shorter works. That is why it is all the more important that for the first time they will prepare a longer original choreography for the Ljubljana Ballet Ensemble. With her artistic expression, Sanja Nešković Peršin brings an innovative approach to the Slovenian dance space, which is powered by both classical ballet technique and more modern dance expressions. On the stage of Kino Šiška, she will stage the choreography of Neverland Ing with the music of Saša Kalan, the costume design of Uroš Belantič, the lighting equipment of Andrej Hajdinjak and the expert assistance of Barbara Novakovič. Kjara Starič is a young author, dancer and choreographer who discovered her greatest love and at the same time the essence of her dance expression in modern ballet. As is appropriate for a modern urban girl, Kjara Starič has been torn between Ljubljana and New York in recent years, where she is upgrading her dance and choreography skills. Her choreography, created to the music of Francis Coates III, with costume design by Almina Duraković, visual image by Jasna Hribernik and with the help of artistic collaborator Tomaž Letnar, is entitled Comfort Zone. The decision to watch a modern ballet performance, in which the Ljubljana ballet artists with and without ballet shoes make their way through the urban-inspired creations of two prominent Slovenian choreographic names, can definitely be left to curious and eager viewers who are eager for new dance stimuli.
