The residents of the Maribor Safe House have become richer for safe driving on the road. Summit Motors Ljubljana presented them with a Ford C-MAX car at the company's headquarters in Ljubljana.
Last year, Summit Motors Ljubljana decided to donate the funds intended for gifts for business partners and associates to charity and do something good for those who need help the most. The Ford C-MAX received extremely high ratings for child safety, which is why the idea was born to donate one to the Safe House for Children and Their Mothers. The Maribor Social Work Center, which also includes the Safe House, was very happy about the donated car. Due to a lack of funds, they have been operating without a company vehicle from the very beginning: "We are getting a modern and safe car with which we can provide transportation for mothers and children, as the need for such transportation is increasing," explained Jožef Tivadar, director of the Maribor Social Work Center. Brigita Peršak, the head of the Maribor Safe House, also expressed great satisfaction, highlighting the symbolic message of the donation: "Violence in the private sphere and in partner relationships is no longer a private problem of individuals who experience violence, but a broader social problem that more and more people are deeply aware of. Also due to the public attention we receive at such moments, women and children, who are most often victims in violent families, are increasingly becoming our common concern. In the 14 years of operation of the Maribor Safe House and the constant support of donors, we have never received such a welcome and valuable donation." The handover of the car to the Maribor Safe House took place in a pleasant atmosphere and with musical accompaniment from the young guitarist Uroš Barič. Its wards will receive another gift in the run-up to Christmas. Employees of Summit Motors Ljubljana, together with business partners, collected a large number of clothes, toys and books for the children, hoping to bring them not only safe moments but also the warmest ones.
