The Volkswagen Golf R 20 Years Edition marks the 20th anniversary since the first Golf R32 hit the road. The special edition will get some extra power and will only be available for pre-order for a year.
Volkswagen Golf R 20 Years Edition presents a special version of the Golf R, which received some additional power and a commemorative ʺdecorationʺ. It has passed 20 years, since the first Golf R32 hit the road, which was also the first Golf to bear the R designation. The special edition will be available for orders in mid-2022 and only until mid-2023.
The Golf 20 Years Edition can boast 2.0 liter turbine 4-cylinder engine that has 333 horsepower (245 kW),compared to the ʺregularʺ version of the Golf R, which has 320 horsepower (235 kW). The 20 Years Edition is like that the most powerful Golf (serial) that ever came from the Volkswagen factory.

The R-Performance equipment is already part of the basic equipment of the anniversary series, and includes a roof air deflector, torque vector control and additional driving modes Special and Drift. The special edition is marked by R logos on the hood, fenders and tailgate. The mirror covers are blue, but if the customer orders a blue car, these covers will be painted black. The number 20 can be read on the B-pillar and in the floor lighting when we open the Golf's doors. 20-inch the rims are available in a blue-black combination or completely black.

The dashboard and doors are decorated with carbon fiber inserts. Since the first Golf R32 in 2002, Volkswagen has sold more than 260.000 R models.
