Welcome to Mars - a must-see tourist destination

The Wadi Rum desert in Jordan has been the backdrop for filming movies about the planet Mars more than ten times. Most recently in the Hollywood spectacle The Martian from 2015, where Matt Damon had to survive the hardships of this planet until the arrival of a rescue mission. In the SunCity camp, they came up with the idea of offering a similar experience to tourists who can spend their vacation in a colony on Mars.

Have you ever dreamed of traveling to the planet Mars? Are you an adventurous type who loves a slightly different vacation? Then the idea of visiting a colony on Mars for your next vacation will be as ordered. The company Freedome and a local glamping service provider imagined structural facilities as they would be on the planet Mars, and arranged them as a glamping settlement.

This is set near the location where the movie The Martian was filmed, and so we get a really incredible feeling of a red landscape that is completely otherworldly. But to make the feelings good, the domes or tents offer all the comforts, such as a private bathroom and a large panoramic window to this truly incredible landscape.

The Wadi Rum desert is home to some 5,000 Bedouins who live near a valley called the Valley of the Moon. At SunCity, they can organize a guide and get to know the country "first hand" with authentic guides who will show you the secrets of the untouched desert. SunCity camp has a restaurant with traditional dishes.

We did not find the price of living in the new settlement online. It will be comparable to the current accommodation prices, which are somewhere between 150 and 300 euros per night.
