We must never forget what 2020 taught us!

"We must learn to improvise, overcome and adapt." - USMC

Life turned upside down in 2020. The coronavirus. A pandemic. The whole world is on trial. Some mourned the loss of loved ones, others the loss of a sense of normalcy. The truth is that life has changed dramatically for all of us in a few short months.

What can we learn from all this change and chaos? What can we take from all this?

It may seem difficult to see the light while we are still in the midst of darkness, but 2020 can't just be a year of endless negativity.

Maybe our year was filled with stress, worry, isolation, anxiety, depression, loneliness, maybe even heartbreak or loss.

In a way, 2020 revealed our feelings and emotions about our goals, where we are in life, or where we thought we should be.

If we want to take something away from 2020, let's take more time for ourselves and stop taking it for granted. We have seen how quickly life can change, and that despite the ever-changing nature of the world, time will still march on. Therefore, we must choose wisely with whom we spend time and how we spend it. Because we can't save time for later. Once it's gone, it's gone!

Let this time teach us patience, both with ourselves and with others. Let this time show us what is really important in our life and who is really important in it. Let it show who and what we really love. Who is really there when we need them.

We must be grateful for every day to wake up, to breathe air, to live.

Let's focus on what really makes us happy in life. What really matters. Whether it's career, relationships, lifestyle - we need to spend more time in ways that bring us joy. Let's think about what kind of life and what kind of person we want to be in 10 years, what excites us and when we feel fulfilled!

Let's focus on what we need and how we can improve. Let this be a time to reconnect with ourselves, as well as with others. Let these challenging times challenge us to change.

Maybe we feel trapped and have gone through things and events that we never thought we would experience and endure. Maybe everything is different now because we realize what we had before. Maybe all this forced us to stop and take a closer look at the image in the mirror - ourselves.

We must be grateful for every day to wake up, to breathe air, to live.

2020 didn't go the way we planned, so let's focus on what's most important to us.

Maybe 2020 is trying to teach us that sometimes what we wanted or thought we wanted isn't what's best for us.

It forced us to slow down and take a step back. It pushed us to our limits and showed us how much power we actually have inside us.

Mentally, many of us have never dealt with so many unknown changes. Social distance. Limited human contact. Health concerns. No matter how strong we were before this year, this year proves just how capable we are.

That doesn't mean we haven't felt loneliness, sadness, anxiety, heartache, or whatever else has made us sad this year. This means that we will be stronger despite the difficulties. Whatever life throws our way, and however painful it may seem, we will find the courage to go on and face it.

Life is unpredictable, but also undeniably magical. We are in the shadow of a rain cloud, it won't be there forever. Let's not spend the rest of the year regretting what could have been if it hadn't been. Let's leave the past behind. Let's believe in the sun.

The year 2020 was not traditionally wonderful, but in the end what counts is what we did to ourselves, how we decided to live our lives. We are the creators of our lives, regardless of all the confusion around us.

If 2020 has taught us anything, it's that life is fragile. We have no idea what tomorrow holds, so let's do our best to make the most of today. We appreciate it. Let us be thankful that we are here, now!
