Startup a company, or start-up, is founded by people with a vision to change the world and things around them. Recently, an increasing number of companies of this type, which mainly deal with new technologies that are currently in trend - web and mobile applications. Individuals who create a startup surround themselves with like-minded people and are ready to invest their time and money in the development of an idea in which they believe one hundred percent. The state helps such companies only a little, and precisely because of this, everything related to startups seems new-age "the american dream". The Journal and Dow Jones VentureSource track companies of startup character that are valuable at least one billion, or as they say in the US, a trillion dollars. The list of such companies is growing and even losing its exclusivity, as many investors see the future in startups and faithfully invest in them.
Today, there are as many as 30 startups in the US that are worth more than the aforementioned billion, among them they are at the very top Dropbox (10 billion $), Palantir (9 billion $), SpaceX (4.8 billion $) and Pinterest (3.8 billion $).
