Zagorka: a lovely house hidden in Zagorje, Croatia

Between the Zagorski hills stands a lovely house called Zagorka, which was created by the architectural studio Planerai from Zagreb for a young couple. He wanted a break, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with everything necessary for carefree spending time.

The young couple's dream house was largely characterized by the landscape, as the architects strove to create a building that blends beautifully with the surrounding hills. In addition to the functional arrangement of the rooms, they wanted to achieve a modern look that does not stand out too much, but still attracts the eye. Take a look at the interesting renderings of the project, which is hidden in Zagorje, Croatia.

"It is a very fun project in which a young couple wanted to see how their wishes could be realized by the architect as much as possible. Despite their youth, they are two, what I would say, old souls who don't need a TV, but enjoy a glass of good wine and a gramophone at the end of work. They love nature and books, and the giant bookshelf in the living room with a beautiful view of the surrounding nature is suitable for this," said architect Matej Raič in an interview with Journal.hr.

The house was designed as a modern cube with a glazed front facing nature. They dressed it in thermally treated wood, which resists weather conditions well. The floor plan of the house measures 105 m2 and is fairly simple, with service rooms in the northern part and living rooms in the southern, glazed part. Through the entrance area, where there is also a bathroom and a dressing room, you enter the living room with kitchen and dining room. The bedrooms are on the first floor, separated from the social area, which allows them to be intimate.

There is a giant bookcase in the living room, which extends from the ground floor all the way to the attic. At the request of the owners, they also included semicircular windows that remind the owner of those from her childhood. A few steps away from the house is a wooden terrace with two comfortable deckchairs. The house is surrounded by unspoilt nature, access to it is regulated by a macadam path. In order to bring nature into the interior spaces, the architects placed a small vertical garden above the bed, and provided a few openings in the roof, through which natural light seeps into the upper floor as well.
