The city is also known for delicious cuisine, which is a colorful blend of Spanish and Aragonese flavors.

When to Zaragoza?

The city lies in the Continental-Mediterranean climate zone, which means that summers are hot and dry, while winters are cold and sometimes snowy. The best time to visit Zaragoza is in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when temperatures are mild and the chance of precipitation is low. Visitors can also enjoy the city during the summer months (from June to August), but during this time the heat can tire you out and take away the joy of exploring.

What should I see in Zaragoza?

Zaragoza is a city with a rich history, which is reflected in many attractions, both cultural and architectural. Whether you're interested in art, history or culture, Zaragoza has something for everyone. The city skyline is dominated by the iconic Basilica del Pilar Cathedral, located on the banks of the Ebro River and known for its impressive Baroque architecture. Visitors can climb the tower for stunning views of the city and explore the many chapels inside.

No less fascinating is the Moorish Aljafería Palace, which is worth a visit even if you are not interested in history and architecture. It was built in the 11th century and is beautifully preserved. Visitors can take a guided tour, learn about the history of the palace and admire the intricate details of the building. The palace is considered one of the most important Islamic monuments in Spain, although it became the residence of Catholic monarchs in the 15th century. It is known for its stunning Mudéjar architecture, which combines elements of Islamic and Christian design. The palace is also known for its beautiful gardens and courtyards adorned with fountains, flowers and citrus fruits.

The Cathedral of La Seo is also something special, which is another example of baroque architecture in the city. It also boasts a unique blend of Gothic, Renaissance and Mudéjar styles and is home to many works of art, including Goya's frescoes. It is the works of the famous painter that accompany you at every step. That is why it is worth visiting the Goya Museum, also known as the Ibercaja Collection. It is located in the historic center of the city, near the Basilica del Pilar. The museum is dedicated to the works of Francisco de Goya, one of the most famous Spanish artists, as well as other artists from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Here you can find a large collection of paintings, prints and drawings by Goya, including some of his most famous works, such as "The Naked Maja" and "The Clothed Maja". The museum also houses works by other artists from Goya's time, including his contemporaries and those who influenced him. El Tubo, on the other hand, is the historical center of Zaragoza's culinary scene, where visitors can find traditional tapas bars and restaurants. It is a great place to try local specialties such as migas (fried breadcrumbs), ternasco (roasted lamb) and the famous Aragonese wine. In the afternoon, visit the Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta with its many walking paths, where you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the lush greenery.
