Did you know that last year more people died in selfie accidents than in shark attack accidents? The effort to take the most beautiful or the most epic selfie in extreme situations, such as hanging from cliffs or in the company of wild animals, sometimes ends tragically. This is also proven by the statistical data collected in the last three years.
From the US data collection agency Priceonomics have looked into the archives of the past three years of accidents that happened while taking fatal selfies. Of the 49 people who have died in selfie-related accidents since 2014, 75 % men, theirs and the average age is 21 years. The age of the youngest participant in the accident is 14, and the oldest is 32. Judging by the data, it seems that the saying "age is wisdom" is correct in this case, or it is just that younger people take more selfies, unfortunately also in dangerous situations.
They are the most common cause of death fall from a height (most often from a cliff or tall building), drowning and falling under the train. The cause of the accident is distractions from the surroundings, which distract the unfortunate people while they are trying to take the perfect selfie in dangerous situations.

The most, right 40 % of all deaths from sepia-related accidents have occurred in India. At Priceonomics, they conclude that the cause is a very high proportion of drowning accidents in this country. It is followed by Russia and the USA, while there was, surprisingly, only one such accident in China.
So if you want to take a selfie in nature, first look around, stand in a safe place, and only then take out your phone and take a picture the most epic selfie ever until now. And don't forget; if you're standing on the edge of a cliff, it's safer to have your friend take the photo.
