Magazine readers between the ages of 6 and 14 took part in the Slovenian competition. The award winners were chosen by a jury in the line-up Arne Hodalič (photographer and photo editor at NG Junior and NG Slovenija magazines), Barbara Čeferin (photographer and director of the Fotografija Gallery) and Irena Cerar (Editor in charge of National Geographic Junior magazine). In the photo Just before now ... se the Yemeni chameleon he's getting ready to smack the tawny uncle. Hodalič commented on Maj's winning photo as follows: "Photographing animals is not easy, as some of them move very quickly all the time, while others are timid and disturbed by the photographer's presence. That's why Maj's photo is all the more interesting, because you can feel the tension of the moment when the chameleon is concentrating on preparing for a quick 'attack' and, of course, a good snack. Also technically, the photo is excellent, both in its frame and in the coordination of tones and colors. Without much thought or hesitation, the jury immediately chose her as the winner of this competition.
