It is difficult to correctly predict what exactly awaits us in 2020, but we can make a pretty good guess based on the rumors. Jeep, Porsche, Volkswagen and maybe even Apple, you never know who will surprise us the most.
We have selected some of the juiciest rumors and presented them briefly. Time will tell if all the predictions turn out to be true, but until then we can let ourselves be surprised.
1. Alfa Romeo GTV
Five years old FCA's strategy envisages quite a few new models, both SUVs and sports cars. Among them, the most expected is right Alfa Romeo GTV, which will be based on the Giulia and have just 600 horsepower. The hybrid coupe will have four seats and four-wheel drive.
2. Apple iMaybe
Apple's self-driving car project with a name Project Titan was cancelled, but at Apple they are still developing the necessary technology for autonomy, which should find its place in Apple's iMaybe. The iMaybe was announced 2 years ago for 2020. Since then, we haven't heard much about the project and the question is whether we will actually see the futuristic car in 2020.
3. Audi Sport EV
This time, Audi is not talking about a specific car, but rather about the future orientation of the brand. In any case, new models based on electric drive are expected, but for now it is still a big unknown whether we will get a coupe, a sports car, maybe an SUV. Whatever it is, we'll be on top of the news definitely excited.
4. BMW i4
The BMW i4 will be their first fully practical everyday electric car, and its design was inspired by philosophy Vision Dynamics Concept. On a single charge, you should be able to drive up to 700 kilometers a long way, and its arrival is planned for the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020.
5. BMW M3
In December of the previous year, BMW announced that they would present it by 2020 26 new ones or rejuvenated models with a label M. It is a high number, but it is known for sure that it will be at the center of everything BMW M3 and BMW M4 right at his side. The 2020 model year BMW M3 is set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next spring.
6. BMW X3e
In the fall of 2016, rumors were confirmed that it would be an SUV BMW X3 also got a fully electric version. This summer, there was also confirmation that this will happen in 2020. We will get the drive from the already established BMW i program.
7. Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV
Not so important news for the Slovenian market, but it was still quite a bit Escalados also on our roads. The new model has been expected for a long time and 2020 should be the right year. The design will be similar to the previous generation, but there will be a new V 8-cylinder and maybe even plug-in hybrid.
8. Hyundai crossovers
Hyundai says they plan to introduce it by 2020 8 new crossovers. This already includes well-known models such as Kona, Tucson and Santa Fe. An A-segment crossover and a larger 8-seater SUV are expected to arrive.
9. Hyundai Santa Cruz pick-up
In 2015, Hyundai presented a concept pick-up crossover with the name Santa Cruz. Now Santa Cruz is expected to get the green light for production. It will be based on the Hyundai Santa Fe. What more is not yet known, but it will definitely be competitive increasingly popular pick-ups.
10. Jaguar F-Type
At Jaguar, they plan by 2020 in one way or another electrify every model in their range. Just then, the refresh of the F-Type model should arrive. Despite the hybrid drive, they are determined not to compromise the sporty essence of the car.
11. Jeep Wrangler Plug-In Hybrid
Two years after the introduction of the new Jeep Wrangler its plug-in hybrid version will also enter showrooms. Not much is known about the hybrid, but it will most likely be the same as the car Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. In this case, we can expect around 50 kilometers driving using only electricity.
12. Land Rover Road Rover
The news is not yet confirmed, at least it is official Land Rover has not been confirmed, but there is quite a lot of talk about the limousine version of Land Rover. Road Rover is said to be based on the same platform as Jaguar XJ, and should also be available in an electrified version.
13. Mazda3
A concept model was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show Kai, which is expected to become a nova Mazda3. Continuing with the Koda design language, Mazda engineers are developing an upgraded engine design that is said to be for 30 % reduced fuel consumption.
14. Mazda RX-9
Rebirth Mazda RX-9 has been rumored for a while, but nothing was certain until the Mazda RX-Vision concept was unveiled. The RX-9 was supposed to be the sports car that would take Mazda into the future and revived again Wankel rotary engine.
15. Mercedes-AMG GLE 63
Mercedes-Benz GLE it already exists in the form of spy photos, as it is about to be renovated. This one should come in 2019, version AMG and will follow soon after that. What has already been seen, although well-hidden, still suggests that we can expect a very likable car.
16. Nissan Z
Current Nissan 370Z it has been with us for quite some time and has not received a more thorough renovation since it was in flight 2009 presented for the first time. Rumor has it that we might get his in the near future newer version.
17. Polestar 3 and 4
A half-year-old became an independent brand, of course still under the watchful eye of parent company Volvo. The plan includes Polestars with names from 1 to 4. The first is an already presented sports car, the second will be a sports sedan, the third will be a compact crossover, and the fourth will be a convertible. At the moment, the technical data are not yet known, but they will not be different from the Polestar 1. We can promise sports and how interesting cars.
18. Porsche 911
A new generation Porsche 911 it's practically already at the door, and we can conclude that it will be based on the footage we've seen a little bigger and loaded with new technology. The changes will largely be in the interior, where due to digitization a completely different feeling in the cabin. The exterior design is unlikely to change much.
19. Redspace REDS
Established car designer Chris Bangle has embarked on a new journey with a Chinese car manufacturer. Redspace REDS it's something completely different than Chris's work at BMW, but it's certainly something eye-catching and forward-looking. It's more about comfort on wheels like a real car.
20. Toyota 86
The future of the two-seater sportsman Toyota-Subaru unfortunately it's still hanging in the air. Both brands are more denying than hinting at a new generation of this fun car. In this case, we can only cross our fingers that something similar will happen just happened in the future.
21. Volkswagen Golf
An affordable and compact family car with a chopped rear end is becoming more and more popular over the years. A new model is on the way, but this time without an implementation e-Golf, as Volkswagen has its own line of electric vehicles in mind ID It is certainly expected GTI-version and possibly also version in form plug-in hybrid.
22. Volkswagen ID Crozz
ID Crozz is a compact crossover that will be powered by two electric motors with the same power 302 horsepower. With a full battery we will be able to drive around 480 kilometers, and four-wheel drive will also be available 4Motion.
