On Sunday, it's time for a delicious lunch in a pleasant atmosphere. Enjoy it in one of the excellent Ljubljana pubs, which are also open on Sundays.
Check out our selection of cute inns that will make your Sunday even better with a good lunch.
1. Pantry
On Gornji trg in old Ljubljana, we find the traditional Pantry, where everything smells of the old, only above the stove are the smells of fresh, modern cuisine, appealing to modern, demanding eaters. Spajza is famous for its phenomenal carpaccio, from beef, stallion, tuna and octopus. In Špajza, they say that they cook Mediterranean and international dishes, but they also serve completely homemade and simple ones, such as žlikrofi or buckwheat porridge with porcini mushrooms. If we have decided to have a more sophisticated meal and want meat, foal fillet, venison medallions and oven-baked kid may be the right choice, and they also prepare excellent fresh sea fish.
2. Tokyo picnic
Tokyo Picnic charms with a varied selection of typical Asian dishes and pleasantly surprises with a wide range of less typical ones. We will be able to indulge in dishes such as Ramen, Gyoza and Tom Yung Kung, and we will also be seduced by the best hamburger around. In addition to the offer, the restaurant is characterized by a relaxed atmosphere and a pleasant music selection.
3. Spirit Bar & Kitchen
Spirit Bar & Kitchen, which otherwise falls under the even more sophisticated Spajza's umbrella, shines with superb cuisine and an excellent wine offer. First-class burgers, excellent brunches, colorful salads, juicy steaks, an exceptional vegetarian offer and top Italian dishes. All this and more with a glass of first-class noble drop.
4. Inn at the Castle
As it smelled from the bread ovens and hearths of our grandmothers in the old days, now it smells from the kitchen Inns in the Castle. The menus offer karst iota, Istrian berries, Prekmurje bograč, fried poultry, Idrija žlikrofi, coastal calamari, and baked sardines. All from fair, organically grown ingredients with the addition of the best olive and pumpkin oils. The meat has local origins at the castle, the vegetables and fruits are from the market, and the wines are from the wine cellars of Slovenian winemakers. At the castle, they take into account the fact that the cuisine of Slovenia is the cuisine of the regions, because Slovenia can boast of a rich culinary culture. We have 24 gastronomic regions with 178 typical and recognizable dishes, which are the basis of a wide range of diverse tastes. That's why the kitchen of the Inn at the Castle smells different every week.
5. Fanny & Mary
Between the river Ljubljanica and the canopy of trees, a tempting smell wafts along the Petkovško embankment, inviting you to a fragrant Sunday lunch. At Fanny & Mary they welcome us with open arms even on Sunday and offer a wide range of intoxicatingly fragrant pizzas and tempting juicy hamburgers.
