Recipe: shrimps in sweet and sour sauce, an easy and quick lunch

Looking for a quick idea lunch? Here are the shrimps in sweet and sour sauces, all you need is some rice to go with it. The sweet and sour sauce is the basis of many Chinese dishes, which can be combined with many foods, and its bold flavor complements the rice beautifully.

Ingredients

  • 300 g cleaned shrimps
  • 40 g of corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • spring onions
  • 100 ml of malt vinegar
  • 2 red peppers
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of ketchup
  • onion
  • spoon of white sugar
  • a piece of fresh ginger

Directions

  1. Put the cleaned shrimp in a clean bowl and mix with two tablespoons of soy sauce. Sprinkle them with cornstarch.
  2. Heat sunflower oil in a wok and when the temperature rises to 170 C, fry the shrimp.
  3. Fry the shrimp for about two minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown. Remove them from the wok on absorbent paper.
  4. Carefully pour off all but one tablespoon of oil from the wok. In the remaining oil, briefly fry the onion and pepper, cut into cubes of approximately the same size. Add grated ginger and garlic and fry everything together for another half a minute.
  5. Add sugar and malt vinegar. Cook everything for about two minutes.
  6. Stir in soy sauce and ketchup.
  7. Return the fried shrimp to the wok and mix them well into the sauce.
  8. Serve with a little chopped spring onion and boiled rice.
