When we hear about the Middle East, images of old sandy cities flash before our eyes, the smells of picturesque bazaars creep into our nostrils, and the mystique of ancient cultures swoons in our hearts. A part of this can be found at ABI Falafel on Trubarjeva, the first place with Arabic food in our country.

Two Palestinians wanted to bring a piece of the Middle East to Ljubljana. Ten years ago, Abid Shaar and Hasib Al Kadoura opened Falafel, the first place with Arabic food in our country. Soon after, Falafel was taken over by the Shaar family, as Hasib opened his own in Kamnik. ABI Falafel is today a well-known and popular location for gourmets.
In the first years, the offer represented the most typical Middle Eastern street food. Falafel sandwich, fatajer, hommos, Arabic wraps, shishkebab, knafa and Arabic tea are still the flagships of Abi Falafel's offer. Falafel means a small fried patty, which is not made of meat, but of chickpeas and a mixture of more than twenty spices. It is the result of thousands of years of tradition and is therefore optimal nutrition for everyone. In the Arab world, it is found right around every corner and is an indispensable part of the daily menu. It is most often served in Arabic bread with fresh vegetables and tarator, a sauce made from sesame paste and lemon.More information:
