About the author
Zulejka was born in Koper, but then they took her to a hill near Umag, where she preferred to play with dolls, help her mother mix bread, and ask to be read to her again. She went to a Croatian school for a while, where she learned to read and write, and then to a Slovenian school, where instead of crossword puzzles, she solved a workbook for Slovenian. After a hazy adolescent period spent at the Piran high school, she enrolled in her dream study of comparative literature and cultural sociology in Ljubljana, where she met many kindred spirits, and even more at aikido training, among them the decisive one, who is now her fiancé Tadej. After weighing the pros and cons of living in Ljubljana or Carinthia, they decided on the latter, where they live now, so that they can raise their daughter on grass and snow, and with the help of their extended family, they grow food for people on the Zvonik farm. When he's not messing around in the kitchen, he practices aikido, watches cartoons, reads picture books and sometimes even books.
