Brothers Germain and Léopold Bouvet run a design studio dedicated to high-end products for discerning collectors who want something very different. The Bouvet Marine Supermarine MM01 is said to be the first physical product produced by the company, a personal watercraft that combines state-of-the-art technology with the rarefied world of a limited edition product. It means that these jet skis will only be for collectors.

Supermarine MM01 (Motomarine 01) has been a long time in the making. The idea of creating an ultra-stylish version of the classic jet ski was the answer to an obvious gap in the luxury vehicle market. Since 2017, the brothers have spent years designing and prototyping, with the final model – shown here – undergoing sea trials this spring and will be delivered to the first sculptors in early 2024. True to its cutting-edge ethos, it will Bouvet Marine produced only 30 units in total. Of these, 15 in the white nacre edition and 15 in the black edition.

Bouvet Marine wanted to do things differently. "We had a radically different concept from what was being done in the industry, which made it impossible to use existing solutions. It was a rediscovery of the discipline, its practices and codes," explains Managing Director Léopold Bouvet. The electric drive was at the heart of the design. The MM01 was modeled in clay, just like a high-end sports car, and the final product is shaped around a carbon-kevlar monocoque chassis. All 30 units will be handcrafted in France using time-consuming and expensive methods. Weight and balance have been carefully considered, as well as a unique hull design that prevents the driver and passenger from getting drenched with spray - useful when talking about a projected top speed of 65 knots, or nearly 120 km/h. The Supermarine MM01 is equipped with an electric motor capable of 300 horsepower. It is made of carbon and Kevlar, and its production - in France in the partner workshop of the Bouvet brothers - requires 500 hours of work.

That speed comes from a powerful electric motor with a two-hour run time between charges. If you want to use the MM01 for more leisurely journeys, the integrated 110-litre carbon fiber boot and optional champagne storage will take care of the picnic. Carbon fiber, Kevlar and titanium cladding ensures that the performance of the MM01 supercar translates into its appearance.

And the price. It is not known, but we know that buyers in the fifth world of yachts will practically snatch the product.
