"Petra and Jure, they are a beautiful couple, she makes coffee and he is a waiter." A slightly exaggerated rhyme, but it perfectly embodies the energy that reigns in Ljubljana's Bikofe. Petra and Jure opened the iconic Ljubljana bar way back in 1999, and the idea arose from the impressions of bars they collected during their travels around the world. Monitoring the scene in world capitals convinced them to tackle the project of a modern "placa" in our largest village as well. This is how a smoothie bar was first created, which soon turned into a real bar, and under the leadership of an interesting couple, it grew into a real cultural center. Shortly after the opening of Bikofe, it hosted the first photography exhibition, and Bikofe became a real cultural gathering place for artists, photographers, poets and, of course, the urban DJ movement. The true spirit of Bikofej is not only a varied event. A sense of homeliness has been established, the waiters will make us coffee as kindly as a friend would make it for us at home in the living room, and it will not be unusual if the waiter speaks to us in a foreign language. Today, you can even get fresh daily soups at Bikofej, and soon we can also expect some goodness from the bread oven.
