Muri the cat and Mac the cat

 Who wouldn't know the fairy tale about the black cat from Mačje mesto, written by Kajetan Ković in 1975. Muri is a cat who keeps a watchful eye on all the events in the city, struggles with serious problems, but love causes him the most headaches. He is in love with the most beautiful cat in town, Muco Maco. Maca is beautiful and many kittens are interested in her, but she only responds to Muri's invitations. But love has never been simple, so Muri finds this problem insurmountable and unsolvable. The story of love affairs intertwines with the story of the good-natured robber Čomba, who wanted to rob a bank and with his mischief keeps the policemen Muclj and Maclj in peace. In addition, the huge Čombe befriends Muca Maca, which makes Muri quite jealous. His friend the cat Mav comes to his aid, with whom they watch a football match at the cat stadium and celebrate the victory of the home team in the inn with a large glass of milk. Muci Maci is a short story about the love struggles of Mica, the mother of two cute little kittens. As always, a love story has a happy ending. When Muri comes home every evening, he writes down all the important events of Cat Town in the Cat Book, as ordered by the mayor, and that's how Muri's day ends. The cult cat tale was adapted twice, namely in 1982 as a children's radio play, and in 1984, under the title Maček Muri in Muca Maca, a soundtrack of songs composed by Jerko Novak and sung by Neca Falk was released. At the end of last year, 25 years have passed since the release of the cassette, which many generations grew up with. The music project itself is one of the greatest gems of Slovenian music production for children and adults.
