Chair made of recycled fishing nets: for sustainable development and clean oceans

Plastic from marine debris not only threatens the health of our seas and coasts, but also our economy and community. The problem with plastic is that it never "disappears" in nature, but accumulates in the environment, especially in the oceans. Every year, many dolphins and seals end up in lost fishing nets, and large pieces of plastic waste remain in them, which will pollute the seabed and ocean for centuries. Did you know that it takes about 500 years for a plastic bottle to decompose?

JYSK has introduced a new series of products based on recycled materials. A chair stands out in it SADBJERG, made from recycled fishing nets. The garden chair was made by the company SCANCOM from the Lars Larsen group, of which JYSK is also a part. Old fishing nets that no longer serve their purpose are bought back in ports, directly preventing them from being dumped into the ocean. The nets are then converted in recycling centers into valuable recycled raw material from which the garden chair is made.

The structure of the chair is made of aluminum, which makes it very durable, light and resistant to all weather conditions. Of particular interest is its functional design, so that it can be easily disassembled after the end of use, and each of its components can be properly recycled.
