Chalet Astra Montana is a completely self-sufficient and secluded accommodation on the outskirts of the Triglav National Park in the Soča Valley. It is located at an altitude of 1,077 meters above sea level, surrounded by unspoilt nature and unforgettable views of the Julian peaks and all the way to the Adriatic Sea.
Chalet Astra Montana, an eco mountain hut, is a restored old shepherd's stable. It offers accommodation outside the public network, but nevertheless all the comforts we need these days. It is located on the ground floor of the house living room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen, sleeping area and toilet room, and they are upstairs two separate bedrooms with bathrooms. Pleasant, elegantly designed and custom-furnished rooms create a warm atmosphere, large triangular windows and offer exceptional views. Both bedrooms also have balcony. Towels and bed linen are provided. For pampering, they have prepared for you wooden tub, which is located behind the house, where you will enjoy relaxing moments in the rustle of the birch shade.
Eco mountain hut
At Astra Montana, they strive to have as little impact on the environment as possible. That is why they have taken many measures to reduce their carbon footprint on this beautiful planet.
The heating system is extremely efficient, as they use just solar panels and a fireplace in the living room. Thick stone walls are covered in warm insulation, windows with triple glazing and ensure that the sun also warms the interior spaces with its heat. Floor heating ensures a constant temperature in all seasons. Sanitary water is also provided by solar panels.

Wastewater is collected in biological treatment plants. All other waste is sorted by the guests in dedicated containers.
They use organic cleaning products, which reduce the impact on the environment.
Guests who have been returning to Astro Montana for many years appreciate it home grown food. Vegetables are grown according to old traditions, without sprays and pesticides, and daily fresh eggs are collected from the hay nests of hardworking hens. The meat is supplied by the surrounding farms, which ensures a greater share of locally grown food.
