Clubhouse Slovenia: where do I get an invitation to a new social network for which there is a queue?

Everything you need to know about the new social network Clubhouse!

You may have heard of Clubhouse Slovenia, but it is unlikely that you have already joined it. That's because the new social network is building its reputation in part on exclusivity. In order to enter, you must secure an invitation. And where do you get it?

Here's everything you need to know about Clubhouse Slovenia, if you find yourself in it soon.

What is Clubhouse?

In short, Clubhouse Slovenia or rather Clubhouse, is an audio application for social networks. The company describes it as "a new kind of voice-based social network that allows people to talk, tell stories, develop ideas, deepen friendships and meet new interesting people around the world."

Basically you can drop in and out of different chats on different topics, the whole thing is similar to a kind of live podcast. You can simply listen or choose to share your thoughts.

For example, Vogue described the app experience as “bringing together live conversations in the form of podcasts, roundtables, networking opportunities (some people are already replacing 'influencers' with 'moderators') in a social networking app that mimics real-life interactions.”

As such, the sound never leaves the app. This is the main rule: conversations cannot be recorded and are not saved.

Who uses Clubhouse?

Clubhouse is also used by celebrities. If you "walk" around the app, you might hear it Oprah, Kevin Hart, Drake, Chris Rock or Ashton Kutcher. They may even host chats. In a way, that's part of the appeal of the Clubhouse app: you get the chance to hear and even engage in raw conversations with famous people. Refinery29 has them right networking described as the main reason for the Clubhouse's growing popularity.

Apart from celebrities, the app focuses on people it considers to be its elite clientele. After its launch last year, the application became a status symbol for people from Silicon Valley. They obviously took the whole invitation system pretty seriously. Today, however, the network is growing diligently. Taylor Lorenz reported for the New York Times last December that Clubhouse already had 600,000 registered users and was courting influencers.

Who made this Clubhouse app?

They created the application last year at the beginning of the year Paul Davison and Rohan Seth. According to CNBC, it was valued at around $100 million as of May 2020, although it only had 1,500 users at the time.

Controversy surrounding the Clubhouse app

Clubhouse is already facing with abuses and problems with content moderation. According to the Times, people complain that the Clubhouse did not do a good enough job of protecting people from abuse.

The Verge reported back in July last year that the app appeared to have no plan to moderate content, and Vanity Fair wrote an article last December detailing a flaw in the app's audio nature that allowed it to "it becomes a haven for people who flirt with misogyny and racism." At the Clubhouse, Vanity Fair answered yes “unequivocally condemn all forms of racism, hate speech and abuse, as set out in the guidelines and terms of service, and have procedures in place to investigate and deal with potential violations of these rules. "

How do you get an invite to the Clubhouse?

At the moment it still does you cannot join the Clubhouse Slovenia network without a personal invitation from the current user and apps for iOS. This may seem simple, but each user can only send two invites when they sign up, so unless you're really part of their inner circle, you're probably out of luck.

The more someone uses the app (moderating, chatting in rooms, etc.), the more invitations they get to send out. As a result, the most engaged people determine who joins the app. Therefore, if you want to get an invitation to Clubhouse Slovenia, not only do you need to know someone who already uses the application, but you also need to know someone who is very active and influential there. Unfortunately, not all of us have Ashton Kutcher as a friend!

If you're using an iPhone, you can download the app and reserve a username if you're into that sort of thing.

However, despite everything described above, the application clearly intends to expand to the general public soon. They say they haven't done this until now mainly for two reasons: they want to slowly build the community and they want to come up with features that will help them handle larger numbers of people.

Good things come to those who wait!

To enter Clubhouse Slovenia or Clubhouse, you will have to wait for an invitation for the time being.
