As part of Renault's newly announced "Renaulution" strategic plan, Alpine is becoming an electric brand (EV) and joining forces with Lotus to develop electric sports cars. There is also news about the budget brand Dacia and its sister brand Lada. The Romanian brand will be expanded in the coming years with the addition of three new models, one of which will compete in the C-segment.
To no one's surprise, the larger model in question will take the form of an SUV. The unnamed model appeared briefly in concept form during Renault's official launch, looking tougher and more robust than the smaller Duster SUV. It goes without saying that the production vehicle won't look exactly like this, but we like what we've seen so far and what they've shown in the concept vehicle.
It will be long 4.6 meters, making it approx 28 cm longer from the aforementioned Duster. The compact SUV is designed to accommodate hybrid and alternative powertrains, the latter likely meaning LPG (LPG) or compressed natural gas (CNG).
Bigger Dacia will be followed by two new models, one of which will hit the roads as early as next year, and the other in 2018 2024. Group Renault wants to establish a stronger relationship between Dacia and the Lada brand in order to reduce costs by reducing the number of vehicle platforms to just one. In addition, the company wants to eliminate seven body styles with the diamond logo and reduce the number to just 11.
There will be combined brands until the year 2025 launched seven models, including the compact Lada The backbone of both brands will be a versatile platform CMF-B of the Renault group.
This is what the new Lada Niva should look like!
