Electric vehicle conversions have become increasingly popular in recent years, allowing classic cars to retain their distinctive looks while disguising modern electric car powertrains. This trend has yet to catch on in the realm of two-wheelers, though that now seems to be changing with the debut of the all-new BMW R Series E-drive Conversion from Luuc Muis Creations.
Luc Muis Creations – The R series maintains a chassis naturally equipped with a modern battery and electric motor. This allows BMW to retain the distinctive shape of its engine, protruding cylinder heads and everything it is known for. The conversion, which is sold as a kit, is equipped with a 4.3 kW battery that gives a range of about 75 kilometers on a single charge, although the bike's range can be doubled or even tripled if it is optionally equipped with a larger battery.
The conversion consists of more than just replacing the EV powertrain and includes countless additional touches that result in a more modern look and modern performance. This includes a round LED headlight, a mono-shock conversion, a shortened inverted front end along with a dual-disc brake setup, and a sloping, rounded subframe that's capped off by a drama-style seat. The conversion also retains the donor gearbox.
To order one of LMC's BMW R Series E-drive conversion kits or to inquire about pricing, interested parties can contact them through their Websites. And while Luuc Muis Creations chose to launch this conversion kit on a vintage BMW, the custom moto shop says it will be compatible with the vast majority of retro motorcycles.
