Eurovision: Who are the winners with the most points scored in history

Eurovision is only a few days away. Our representative Ana Soklič is already diligently rehearsing for her performance at the first pre-selection, which will take place on Tuesday, May 15, where she will try to make it to the Eurovision final.

Winning Eurovision is difficult because it is necessary win the heart of an entire continent. While of course we want good rankings for Ana Soklič, we looked through the history of the winning representatives who won the most points. Do you still remember these Eurovision winners?

1. Salvador Sobral

Salvador Sobral is with a song Amar pelos dois, written by sister Luísa Sobral, won the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. This gave Portugal its first ever Eurovision win. The song won the hearts of Europe and scored the most points (758) in the history of the competition.

2. Jamala

The Ukrainian representative won Eurovision 2016 Jamala with the composition 1944, which tells a personal story about the expulsion of the Tatars from the Crimean peninsula. The composition scored 534 points.

3. Netta

In 2018, an Israeli took home the victory at the Eurovision Song Contest Netta, which was considered a favorite from the very beginning. She scored 529 points with the song Toy.

4. Duncan Laurence

Dutchman Duncan Laurence became the winner of Eurovision 2019 with the song Arcade, thus bringing the Netherlands its fourth Eurovision victory. Duncan convinced both the expert juries of individual countries and the audience and scored 498 points.

5. Alexander Rybak

Alexander Rybak won the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, hosted by Moscow, with a record margin of 387 points. He sang a song Fairytale.

6. Loreen

In 2012, a singer won in Azerbaijan Loreen. We remembered her as a spiritual and wild girl who danced barefoot on the Eurovision stage. Her composition Euphoria she scored 372 points.

7. Måns Zelmerlöw

In 2015, the winner was Sweden with the song Heroes, sung by Måns Zelmerlöw. Sweden was the only country to win Eurovision twice in one decade. Måns then got 365 points.

8. Lords

You probably still remember the Finnish hard-rock band Lords, which completely stunned European viewers in 2006, both with music and appearance. Finnish monsters smoothly swept away the competition in Athens and brought the Eurovision Song Contest to Helsinki. In 2016, they scored 292 points at Eurovision.

9. Conchita Wurst

Certainly one of the most famous Eurovision winners, Austrian Thomas Neuwirth - Conchita Wurst conquered Europe in 2014 with the Bond ballad Rise Like a Phoenix. The winning song Rise Like a Phoenix scored 290 points.

10. Emmelie

Singer Emmelie represented Denmark at Eurovision 2013 with a song Only Teardrops and won the competition. She won 281 points.
