Farm tourism Mahnič is located near the Dragonj border crossing in the direction of Sv. Peter. Like all seaside inns, they have a wide range of local specialties. Their typical menu consists of minestrone, cheese and prosciutto, oven-roasted chicken with cabbage and potatoes, and apple sponge cake. They adjust their offer depending on the season, as they grow the main ingredients themselves or buy them from neighboring farmers, thus maintaining a fresh and home-made offer. They can also boast of their own wine cellar, where they produce six different types of wine every year. But what makes them different from other inns in these places? In addition to quality food, their chef Zoran Dokič, who gained his experience by studying with great chefs in Milan, Turin and Brussels, surprises us with his unusual approach and extensive culinary knowledge. With his extensive knowledge, he has become a specialist in vegetarian and macrobiotic cuisine, and his selection of ingredients and preparation of dishes is based on knowledge of Ayurveda. He is also one of the few who can cook even for those who have suffered from celiac disease, a disease of the gastrointestinal tract. Due to his exceptional culinary skills, he also cooked for eminent guests, such as presidents Janez Drnovšek and Jacques Chirac. If we want to ensure that we will enjoy his masterful skills, advance notice is desirable, as Zoran is not always present at the inn due to his varied workday. Also, the inn is not open type, so reservations are mandatory and subject to a minimum number - a group of 18 people.
