Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro: more elegant, smarter and still "relatively" cheap

The Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro may be very similar to last year's models, both in form and functionality, but looks can be deceiving. Beneath the surface, you'll find some significant changes that should "reincarnate" these phones into new life. Namely, with the previous generation, Google had a lot of challenges. Let's see.

Google has finally revealed the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, its answer to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. It's basically a polished follow-up to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, and it comes with improved cameras, more assertive design cues, and fits nicely into an accessory ecosystem that practically didn't exist a year ago. They're also keeping the devices the same price as last year, with added pre-order bonuses that mean you'll have more cash in your pocket for accessories. That's what Google thinks.

Google Pixel 7 - the entry-level model - can thus be purchased from 545.38 euros without tax (applies to legal entities registered in the EU - liable for VAT), or 649.00 euros.

The Google Pixel 7 has inherited a lot of what Google built into the Pixel 6. At first glance, it looks pretty close to the Pixel 6, with the exception of slight changes to the camera visor. That means the visor-like rear camera will thankfully remain a design constant. Despite the fact that the two-tone design on the glass is unfortunately gone. With the 7 and 7 Pro, the camera bar this time adds an additional color. By the way, the Pixels will be available in Obsidian and Snow (aka black and white) colors. The Pixel 7 is also available in "Light Lemongrass," while the Pixel 7 Pro is available in a dark green/gold color that Google calls Hazel.

Google is rolling out some changes to the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. Notably, the Pixel 7's screen size shrinks to 6.3 inches. The Pixel 7 Pro keeps the same 6.7-inch screen with a less extreme curve, the screen is less rounded. Both will get very bright screens that reach around 1500 nits. At the same time, the Pro refreshes at 120 Hz, while the Normal only refreshes at 90 Hz.

The phone is powered by the Tensor G2 processor and contains the latest version of Android 13. The regular Pixel 7 offers 8 GB of RAM, while the “pro” model uses 12 GB of RAM.

Of course, there is a big emphasis on photography. Here, Google mainly talked a lot about artificial intelligence and various tricks of a software nature, which of course are supported by the insides of the phone.
The Pixel 7 thus has two main cameras. 50 MP wide-angle camera and 12 MP ultra-wide camera. The Pro version adds a 48 MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
