If the masquerades summon spring, the gregors welcome it with open arms. On Gregorevo, birds get married, and illuminated boats light up along many rivers and lakes.
According to folk tradition, On March 12, the birds mate. It is a lovers' holiday according to ours, but it is particularly interesting to the youngest. Then they swim along many rivers and lakes boats with candles, which welcome spring in a particularly romantic atmosphere.
The nineteenth traditional children's event will take place in Ljubljana.Greetings to spring - gregorčki". The "departure" of all kinds of water vessels with candles - the so-called gregors - sets off on the path along Gradaščica, on Eipprava Street.
Gregorčke are released every year also in Kranj, in the canyon of the Kokra river, and in Market, Railwaymen, Stones of Gorica and many other places in Slovenia.
