There are days when already in the morning it seems that everything is going wrong. We wake up sad, worried, with a cloud over our heads, from which, it seems to us, the rain falls only on us. Then we tell ourselves that we got off on the wrong foot and are nervous all day, as if we can't change anything.
It seems the universe has determined that we are going to have a bad day. But it doesn't have to be that way. In fact, even on those bad days, we can take our destiny into our own hands. Below we reveal how.
Whether your day started with anxiety or fatigue, you can turn it around for the better.
If you wake up sad
When you wake up feeling sad, it is the level of serotonin in your body is very low. This leads to a feeling of depression, and to prevent this sudden onset of this unwanted state - make it your goal to raise your serotonin levels as much as possible.
The photoreceptors in the eyes actually play a big role in this and can help regulate your energy. The answer lies in the blue sky and natural light, so when you wake up, open the blinds wide and let the rays of light into the room. This will naturally wake you up, and your body's serotonin levels will rise, making you feel calmer and less sad.
If you wake up anxious
When you wake up and feel anxious, it would be best to devote yourself to breathing exercises - for calming the nervous system. You may not get it right the first time, or you may have to discover a technique that works best for you, but the more regularly you practice the breathing techniques, the more effective they will be for you.
As you inhale, imagine the air traveling through your entire body, up to your nostrils, and then out of you. Focusing on your breathing activates your parasympathetic nervous system, which causes your heart rate to slow and your entire body to calm down. Also, try to avoid watching the news, social media or email for at least the first half hour after waking up - and replace this activity with a simple ritual that you enjoy.
If you wake up tired
If you wake up tired, start your day with a glass ice water. It will be very cold water with ice stimulated adrenaline in your body, and adrenaline will speed up the heart rate and thus better blood flow in the brain. Perhaps you can shower under an ice shower, which will be a real little "shock" for your body. Cold water will boost your circulation, which means your body will need more oxygen, helping you feel refreshed and alert.
A walk in the fresh air, running, stretching or morning yoga also helps.
If you wake up feeling lonely
If you feel lonely, it's possible that you don't care about the people around you sincere connection is missing, which leads to your unfulfillment. Don't reach for quick and short-term solutions to feel better. Instead, think of it as actions you need to take on a regular basis.
