The company IKEA and the design house MARIMEKKO present the BASTUA collection, which was inspired by Nordic nature, well-being and joy. The collection contains 26 products, from furniture to textiles and glassware, characterized by recognizable vibrant prints. They will be available from the beginning of March.
BASTUA collection combines company knowledge IKEA about furnishing a home with artistic prints from a renowned design house Marimekko and celebrates the pleasures and joy of Nordic sauna and personal care rituals. The name "BASTUA" is the Swedish term for sauna, which comes from the province of Småland, where IKEA was founded. The collection is designed so that it can accompany you on a walk by the lake on a warm summer evening, or at moments when you take time for yourself with well-being rituals after a long day.

In the company Marimekko this is the first time they have designed prints as part of an exclusive collaboration for one brand, which is why they are all the more special. Marimekko's mission is to empower people for happiness and bring joy into their lives with strong prints and colors. One of the central prints in the collection was inspired by the large rhubarb leaf that often grows near outdoor saunas in Finland and is used in several products, for example the popular FRAKTA bag.

Robes, towels and a sauna bucket, which will be available in IKEA stores for the first time, are products that are traditionally used while spending time in the sauna. Other products are designed to be used before or after a sauna session, whether it's enjoying a light snack, sitting on a soft cushion that gives you a sense of grounding, or finding ways to create a more peaceful environment. For this purpose, we suggest lighting a BASTUA candle, to which the aromas of elderberry, rhubarb and sweet vanilla have been added.

A classic side table complemented by useful trays and glassware will allow you to add a spark of Nordic joy to your everyday brunch. You will notice that the BASTUA tray fits perfectly on the surface of the side table. A bench is also part of the collection, which is an excellent companion in moments of solitude, stylish and stable at the same time.
