Improvised movie scenes that are today the most iconic scenes of all time

The film is made by hundreds of people who are probably difficult to control. This is especially true for the main actors, who provide charm with their improvisations. Here are 14 scenes that are completely improvised, but our favorite part of the movie.

True Lies (1994)

During an awkward but unexpectedly sexy striptease, Jamie Lee Curtis actually lost her balance. You can see Arnold Schwarzenegger already stepping forward to help Jamie, but the actress picks herself up and continues. James Cameron left it in the film, as it made Jamie more authentic than a normal and somewhat clumsy housewife.

Titanic (1997)

In one of the best scenes in the film, in which Jack intends to draw Rose, a shy DiCaprio vows: "Lie on the bed, uh, I mean the couch." James Cameron decided to leave Leonard's mistake in the film - the phrasing and uncertainty with which it was said shows exactly how nervous Jack was at the moment.

Titanic (1997)

One of the most famous phrases in film history, "I'm the king of the world," was actually a pure improvisation, invented by Leonardo DiCaprio. And that's exactly what made the scene so legendary and popular.

Annie Hall (1977)

Allen's hero decides to try cocaine for the first time in his life. He is warned that it is an expensive item, so he carefully opens the box and tries some of the white powder. Then suddenly he sneezes. The other actors laughed heartily, and the scene remained in the film.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)

Remember the scene where Viggo Mortensen kicks the orc's steel helmet? Director Peter Jackson was quite impressed with the way the actor brought emotion, pain and a troubled mind to the character. But this pain was quite real: Viggo broke two toes while kicking the helmet.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

During the filming of the first part of the trilogy, Viggo proved that he was the right choice for Aragorn. In the script, it was written that the orc commander should throw a knife at Aragorn during the fight, but miss. Due to the artificial eye, the orc threw the knife straight at Viggot, who, like a real player, did not lose control.

The Usual Suspects (1995)

The scene where the suspects are lined up in front of the identification board and must say a specific phrase was not intentionally farcical. All the players had to read the same words, with some starting to mumble, while others made a fool out of it. This elicited laughter from the players. The result is one of the most recognizable scenes in the film industry.

Pretty Woman (1990)

One of the most famous scenes from the film shows Edward giving Vivan a box containing an expensive necklace. As soon as Julia Roberts reaches for the necklace, Richard Gere closes the box. This elicited a hearty laugh from Julia, as it was not in the script.

Guardians of the Galaxy (Guardians of the Galaxy, 2014)

Charismatic and funny Chris Pratt did a lot of improvisation, and in this scene he was just clumsy - he accidentally dropped a dangerous artifact and got caught just above the floor.

The Shining (1980)

Stanley Kubrick managed to make a horror film in which every moment became legendary, and one of the most recognizable moments of the film is, of course, the one where Jack Nicholson cuts open the door with an ax, pokes his head through it, saying: "Here's Johnny!" That wasn't in the script. Jack picked up the phrase from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

The Dark Knight (2008)

After the Joker is thrown behind the bars, he watches silently. He soon witnesses Gordon's promotion to commissioner and the applause that follows. Even Heath Ledger started clapping without changing the horrified expression on his face. This was not in the script, but today it is one of the most famous scenes from the film.

Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

All Star Wars fans know the scene where Princess Leia confesses her love to Han Solo. According to the script, Han should say "I love you" to Leia. respond with "I love you, too." But Harrison Ford chose "I know." This improvisation helped make for a more unique Han Solo as well as a more iconic scene.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

One of the most terrifying scenes of the entire film is the first conversation between Clarissa Starling and Hannibal Lector. To the phrase that was in the script: "I ate his liver with some fava beans an a nice chianti", Anthony Hopkins added such an unexpected sound that Jodie Foster was completely horrified. Among other things, she said that she didn't talk to Anthony Hopkins during breaks because she was scared.

Good Will Hunting (1997)

In the scene where Robbie Williams tells the story of his wife farting while sleeping, Matt Damon laughs heartily. Why? The story was not in the script. Robbie Williams made it up on the fly. This brilliant moment of improvisation helped Damon (the actor and the character) feel more at ease in Williams' company. If you look closely, you'll be able to see that the camera shakes a bit as well. This is a sign that the cameraman also laughed at the woman's story.
